  • October Update

    By Jason Severs | November 10, 2008

First let me say sorry for the lack of updates to this site!  We  spent the month of October on the road and saw God bless us with four more churches partnering with us to take the Gospel to the Last Frontier.  Nathanael and I left Teresa, Jonathan, Andrew and baby Timothy, for 13 days and flew to New England.  God blessed and allowed to present our burden to five churches and had the joy of seeing two young folks trust Christ.

One of the highlights of this trip was being in Westbrook Maine.  While Youth Pastor at Fellowship, we took the teens to Westbrook and helped Pastor Jason Stoeber and his wife canvas the town with literature about Westbrook Baptist Church.  It was exciting to see the growth that God has allowed to this church and the time of fellowship with the Stoeber’s again.

Please keep us in your prayers, Teresa had some blood clotts after the birth of Timothy, but everything seems to be doing better.  God bless you all!!

    September update!

    By Jason Severs | September 22, 2008

So far this month we have traveled well over 4000 miles on deputation.  It has been good and God has provided our every need, as we knew He would.

The Lord allowed us to be in three missions conferences so far this month, with one church, Grace Baptist, in TN taking us on.  We had a great time in Missouri, with Pastor Craig Burcham, and his fine folks at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  On our way out to Holts Summit, we stopped and went up into the St. Louis Arch, that was a great stop, with the boys, they loved every minute of it.  We are now preparing for our new addition, please pray for Teresa and the baby, that everything will go smoothly!

Things are going great, we are looking forward to seeing God work, its always amazes us to see exactly how He works and provides.

    God’s Goodness

    By Jason Severs | August 18, 2008

Once again I must write of the goodness of our God.  It has been a blessing to see how He has worked and provided for us.  Thank you for all your prayers as we continue to book meetings and travel.

We just traveled back from Candidate school in Ohio and had a great time fellowshipping with the other missionaries and the men who came to teach for this week.

We got to talk with Bro. Kent La Bouve in Glennallen and rejoicing with him about the salvation of another teenage young man.  It is exciting to hear that there were also several saved during VBS; we are looking forward to getting back to Glennalllen and helping in this great work.

    Survey Trip

    By Jason Severs | July 31, 2008

What a long, and exciting month God allowed us to spend in the state of Alaska.  I left on the 26th of June and had the opportunity to see Anchorage, Fairbanks, Glennallen, and many of the sites in between.  Teresa joined me on the 10th of July and we travelled to Glennallen where we spend almost a week with the Kent La Bouve family.  God has truly used this man and his family to start a great church, Old Paths Independent Baptist Church.  The work in this communtiy is often slow, but the Lord has allowed several to be saved, and while we were there Bro. La Bouve gave me the opportunity to preach and there was one young man trusted Christ has his Saviour.  AMEN!  During this week with the La Bouve’s God clearly showed us His will for exactly where in this massive state that He would have to work, right here in Glennallen with the La Bouve’s.  We  will be labrouring with them to establish this church into a self supporting ministry.  They have prayed that God would send folks to help them, well, He has answered their prayers.  Since our return to the lower 48, we have started fulltime deputation and are excited to see how God continues to meet our needs.  Just one example, while we were gone, a man who I’ve met on a couple of occasions, followed God’s direction and gave us a generous love gift.  God has shown Himself to us again and again and we can do nothing but praise Him for His blessings.  Please keep us in your prayers and we are looking forward to all that God has for us!

    God’s Blessings

    By Jason Severs | May 28, 2008

We can only thank the good Lord for His hand of protection and provision for us. The months of April and May have see us traveling some 3000 miles, from West Virginia to South Carolina.  During these two months God has brought in the funds for our Survey trip to Alaska this summer.  I plan to leave on June 26th and Teresa will join me on July 9th.  We are scheduled to return on the 22nd of July, we ask that you will pray for us during this time for we are asking the Lord to show us exactly in Alaska He would have us.

We also found out that Teresa will give birth to our fourth son in October, I know several of you were praying for a girl, (Mrs. Poole), God’s  way is always the best!  We are excited to see how God continues to bless us, i can honestly say that the three boys we have now have been a blessing.  They have their moments, but don’t we all.

This month of June will be our last on staff at Fellowship, all I can say is that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!  A special thanks to Pastor Drake, words will never be able to describe the love we have for you and Mrs. Drake, you have showed us how to live the life that pleases God!  The church has been so good to us and helped us in many ways, we just want to say thank you, and we are praying for the minstry there.

    March Madness

    By Jason Severs | March 12, 2008

In the college baketball world the month of March has been referred to March Madness, due to the basketball tourney.  As a fan of the game, I love the excitement that comes with each and every game, looking for the big upsets and hoping my team, UNC Tarheels will hold the trophy high in early April.  All of us has something that gets us excited, for me it has truly been the way God works, and how He works all things out.  Teresa and the boys have been sick, but God has enabled us to continue to travel and has even saw fit to give us more monthly support.  Please pray for us, we are looking into getting our tickets for this summer, and are beginning to make plans for this all important trip to Alaska.  I have added more meetings and will do my best to make sure we stay up to date.  Thanks for all your prayers.

    Offically Started

    By Jason Severs | February 22, 2008

We Praise the Good Lord for his protection, and provision.  We just completed a long, but exciting week, it started with me completing one of the responsiblities that I have had while at the church and school.  I was appointed moderator of the confernce that our Christian school was in, and we closed that out with the basketball tournament, then travelled to Ohio to meet with the fine folks of Calvary Baptist Church, where Pastor Snow had pastored for some 20+years.  God was good to us and allowed us to partern with Points North Baptist Mission. We are at 1% of our needed support, but I know God can and will supply the rest.  God is Good all the time.  Please keep us in your prayers, we are looking forward to what God is doing.

    Recent Deputation

    By Teresa Severs | February 22, 2008

January 27, 2008 I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update my deputation journal.  I will take you back a few weeks and let you know how we’ve been doing.   The last Sunday in Jan. we went to Cook’s Chapel Baptist Church in WVA.  We were invited to lunch at the Worley’s house; what a wonderful meal Miss Carolyn prepared for us.  We had a very nice afternoon.  Jonathan and Nathanael had a fun time playing with Zayne and his rubberband guns.  We presented our burden for Alaska for Pastor Peyton and his people.  There was a great crowd and the people were so receptive and excited for us.  Cook’s Chapel Baptist Church felt God’s leading to partner with us with their financial support in helping our ministry in Alaska.  We praise the Lord and thank Him for His many wonderful blessings to us. We continue to covet your prayers for God’s leading in our lives.  Thanks again to our friends at Cook’s Chapel Baptist Church and Bro. Peyton.  Also, a heartfelt thank you to Bro. Kevin, Miss Carolyn, and family for the great lunch and fellowship.  God bless you all!!!!

February 6, 2008 The Lord has been so good to us!!!  Praise His Name!!  I know we’ve haven’t been on the deputation trail, but I believe the nerves are getting worse.   We had the opportunity to be with Pastor McNeese and the fine folks of Rural Retreat Baptist Church.  We thank the Lord for this privilege to minister to these fine folks, many of which we have a great bond to friendship.   Our goal is to be a blessing to others and share what God wants for our family in Alaska.  Please continue to pray for us that God will enable us to be on the field of Alaska by the summer of 2009.  We know our lives are in God’s Hands and we trust Him.  Thanks to the Pastor McNeese and the folks of Rural Retreat Baptist Church for the blessing and encouragement you were to us during our time together.  May God bless you all!!! Bye for now-

February 13, 2008 I’m just going to keep proclaiming that the Lord is good and He is so awesome to us.  The Lord uses so many ways and so many people to encourage our hearts and keep us pressing on for Him.  We had a fantastic meeting with Bro. Smith and Auburn Baptist Church.  The people were so warm and welcoming—showering us with gifts.  It was such a nice surprise.  The boys each received a gift and Jonathan’s was really neat.  It was a rocket shooter and the rocket went very high in the sky.  It was fun to watch.  Yes, the gifts were nice, but the encouraging words and prayers going to be offered on our behalf also excited us to keep focused on God’s call for our family.  Alaska has a great need and we want to be used by God to meet this need according to His will.  Thanks to Bro. and Mrs. Smith and Auburn Baptist Church—May God bless your church and ministry.  We are praying for you.  God Bless–
